Hello there, I’m Jenna.
I am a child and adolescent psychiatry fellow who is head over heels for anything related to psychiatry, psychotherapy, brain, mind, and philosophy.
I trained in adult psychiatry in Pennsylvania, then fast-tracked to child and adolescent psychiatry fellowship in California. It was a big move, but I am loving it. I still miss Pennsylvania though, where it’s legal to buy rocket fireworks anytime but illegal to buy alcohol past 10 pm.
I believe that the world would be a better place if everyone learned how to be an attuned parent. The title of this blog is a reference to Donald Winnicott’s concept of “the good enough parent“, which is the idea that the imperfect but sufficient provisions of a parent builds the child’s resilience in an imperfect world. I want to empower kids and parents to celebrate each other just as they are. What would the world look like if we were not afraid of judgment? A little bit closer to peace I think.
I warmly welcome discussion. Please feel free to get in touch!
